Hello, I'm Amber, and I live in Stroud.

My journey to becoming a childminder has been shaped by a genuine passion for helping children learn, grow and thrive. I have over 17 years of professional experience working with children.

After studying Fashion, Textiles and Product Design at university, I decided to take some time out before beginning my career. I spent two wonderful years living in Brazil, where I worked as an English teacher and at a children's holiday club. It was during this time that I discovered how much I loved working with children and knew I wanted to build my career around supporting their learning and development.

When I returned to the UK, I worked as a nanny before becoming a Montessori teaching assistant. I had never encountered the Montessori approach before, but I immediately connected with its philosophy of respecting each child's individuality and encouraging independent learning. I went on to qualify as a Montessori teacher and spent eight rewarding years working in a Montessori nursery, gaining valuable experience supporting children through their early years.

After the birth of my second child, I wanted to continue doing the work I loved while also being present for my own family. Becoming a childminder allowed me to combine both, creating a warm, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children can feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. I have now been a registered childminder for seven years and continue to enjoy building close relationships with children and their families, supporting each child as they grow in confidence and develop at their own pace.

My background in art, design and textiles continues to influence the experiences I provide. I love encouraging children to explore their creativity through a wide range of art materials, open-ended activities and imaginative play, helping them express themselves while building confidence and curiosity.

I also have a real love of the outdoors and believe nature plays an essential role in children's wellbeing and development. We enjoy regular outings to local parks, playgrounds, woodland areas and other places where children can explore, discover and learn through first-hand experiences.

I believe every child is unique, and I strive to provide a caring, stimulating and inclusive environment where children feel happy, confident and supported.
