About Me
Hello, My name is Amber and I live in Stroud. Below is a brief background as to what led me to childminding.
After studying Fashion Textiles and Product Design at university I decided to take some time away before starting my career. After 2 years in Brazil, where I spent some of my time as an English teacher and then working at holiday camp for children I realised that's where my true passion was, working with children.
After returning to London I spent some time as a nanny and then as a Montessori teaching assistant. I had never heard of Montessori prior to this but I immediately fell in love with the method. I trained as a Montessori teacher and stayed working at the Montessori nursery for 8 years. After the birth of my second daughter I still wanted to work with children but be able to care for my own at the same time, so I decided to become a childminder.
I still have a love for art, design and textiles and love to use that creativity with the children I care for, giving them the opportunity to explore, experiment and to express themselves with the use of different media.
I also love the outdoors and believe it plays a big part in a child's development, I offer regular outings to parks/ playgrounds and trips to the woods.
